Blue Springs, Missouri

Blue Springs is located in Jackson County just east of Kansas City along Interstate 70 near the Missouri River. Blue Springs is part of the Kansas City, Missouri-Kansas metro area. Blue Springs' history is tied to the passage of settlers on their westward journey. Pioneers found the area to be a perfect place, due to the large quantity of cool and clean water from a spring of the Little Blue River; hence the name "Blue Springs". Just 20 minutes from downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

The City has a population of 48,080, making Blue Springs the fourth largest City in Jackson County, Missouri and the city continues to grow in population by 1000 people per year.

The City of Blue Springs is approximately 19 square miles in size. Public parks and conservation areas in and around the City approximate an additional 17 square miles of dedicated open space.

Blue Springs has become a desirable place to live due in part to its excellent school district. Expansion magazine has named the Blue Springs School District a Gold Medal School District winner for 2007. This "Education Quotient" provides readers a way to compare school districts nationwide in terms of quality and is based on three indices: Graduate Outcome, Resource Index, and the Community Index. The Blue Springs School District ranks in the top 16% nationwide in the above factors.

Independence, Missouri

Independence is the fourth largest city in the state of Missouri and encompasses over 78 square miles. It is the county seat of Jackson County. The current population is approximately 115,000. Independence residents enjoy over 40 parks, excellent schools and outstanding shopping facilities that offer a wide variety of choices ranging from the historic Independence Square to one of the finest malls in the surrounding area.
